Are you Tesla?
No. Tesla Cybercabs is an independent news and waitlist site. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tesla, Inc. Official rides, app access, and vehicle questions belong with Tesla.
When is the launch event?
Today, 3 September 2026, around 4:45 p.m. CT / 5:45 p.m. ET, an invite-only guest event in downtown Austin — not at Gigafactory Texas (production stays at Giga Texas). Downtown venue and time are widely attributed to Cybercab engineer Eric Earley on X; the original tweet may not be findable. Exact street address is not public. Cybercabs have been photographed on Congress Avenue. As of early evening, no official livestream URL has been posted by @Tesla or @elonmusk.
Can I get in tonight?
No. Tonight is invite-only guest rides (sweepstakes / exclusive-access email). There is no verified public Cybercab hail in the Tesla Robotaxi app tonight. App version 26.8.0 includes Cybercab-related code (automatic doors and similar) and Tesla has published rider, safety, and first-responder guides — that is not the same as open hailing. Join this independent waitlist for coverage alerts; it is not Tesla’s queue.
Where does Robotaxi run?
Austin, Dallas, Houston, Miami, Tampa, and Orlando have been named in launch-week reporting for Robotaxi (mostly Model Y). Fleet chatter on X, citing Reuters / Texas books, puts about 420 Tesla robotaxis in Texas and about 45 Cybercabs. Treat those as third-party reported counts, not a Tesla press-kit number. A listing is not a public Cybercab hail tonight.
Is there an official livestream?
Many people expect a stream on Tesla’s X or YouTube, but as of early evening no official livestream link has been posted by @Tesla or @elonmusk. We will not invent a URL. @Tesla posted a gold Cybercab video (“The future has arrived in Austin”); @elonmusk posted about lounge / TV / sound and the gold color.
Does the Cybercab have a steering wheel?
No. Purpose-built two-seat robotaxi: no steering wheel, no pedals, butterfly/scissor doors. Unveiled October 2024. See the design briefing.
Can I buy one for under $30,000?
That figure has been previously floated by Tesla since the 2024 unveil. Treat it as unconfirmed for retail sale today. Federal passenger-sale rules for a wheel-free car are still evolving.
What does the waitlist do?
It stores your email (and optional city/interest) so this independent site can send ride and news alerts. It is not Tesla’s official queue. Leads save to this browser and, if the operator wired Formspree/Getform/Web3Forms or /api/waitlist, to that endpoint.
How do you make money?
Optional Amazon search links (Associates tag in config.js), sponsor inquiries to hello@teslacybercabs.com, and reserved AdSense slots that stay empty until a publisher ID is set. No fake ads.
